Land Tax is Unbanned.

While the Legacy metagame is healthy, the DCI is still interested in occasionally unbanning some cards to see if they improve the format. The top tournament decks in Legacy include Reanimator, RUG Delver, and Sneak and Show. Land Tax has been banned since 2004, doesn't seem to directly add to the top decks, and could make the format even more diverse. While there is always some risk in unbanning a powerful card, the DCI thinks this is a reasonable risk to take.

The DCI looked at the results of competitive Standard events. We found that while a high percentage of the participants played WU Delver decks, that the win rate of those decks was very close to par. For instance, in a recent MTGO PTQ, the win rate of WU Delver decks against non-Delver decks was a bit under 51%. In general there are decks that the Delver deck is strong against, and decks that it is weak against, but on average the deck tends to get results close to average. Additionally the number of people playing high level Standard events is the highest ever.

Looking at the Magic 2013 card set, it appears that there may be more tools for other decks than for the UW Delver deck, though time will tell if this bears out. The DCI will continue to observe how this plays out, but is taking no action.

A me sembra una cagata immane, probabilmente sbaglio ma Ancestral Recall è rimasta bannata e Land Tax non è troppo peggio.
Oppure cercano la scusa buona per bannare Jace TMS e Brainstorm.

Lande base. Come fa una carta del genere, appartenente a un colore un po' sfigatino, a cambiare il formato? Fai vantaggio con Scroll Rack come ai tempi di Finkel?

Non mi viene in mente nessun mazzo in cui inserire questa carta, ora come ora (a parte in 1x di side per il mio chioderilllo contro heavy denial decks)...illuminatemi!

Le interazioni con Brainstorm e Jace (aka: faccio Ancestral) non mi sembrano un dettaglio, perchè bastano 4 o 5 Terre base per abusarne, senza stravolgere nessuna mana base...

Con 1 mana in piu' ti permette di avere SICURAMENTE +3 carte, che con Branza e Jace pio possono fare ulteriore vantaggio. E hai un volante che mena.

Questo a cc1, SE si verifica una condizione, ti fetcha 3 terre base. Fossero state non basiche, allora montavo istant-speed Maverick 2.0: Scryb Landlord ed erano volatili per diabetici per il meta...ma sono 3 terre base, buone per retrace e seismic Assault...se non giocassi Calice a 1 in loam.

Non so, forse potro' giocare finalmente Erhangeddon in onore di Zak, con Land Tax, Reliquary e Armageddon, pero' insisto...mi sarei bagnato di piu' se avessere sbannato Earthcraft :-*

Magari mi sbaglio e non cambierà nulla, ma sicuramente Tax di meglio rispetto a Squadron Hawk ha che non richiede mana per funzionare, può fare più vantaggio carte (terre base ne puoi giocare anche 5 o 6, di Hawk no), costa 1 solo e ti fornisce i land drop per sviluppare il tuo gioco.

Comunque sia, staremo a vedere ma ho un pessimo presentimento.

guardate mazzo che ci gira attorno o meno, finalmente una valida carta da sidare contro canadian. E questo è solo bene.

e' vero che tutto quello che fa tassa lo fa anche loam, meglio... ma questa l'hai scritta apposta per fartela rinfacciare fra qualche mese, lo sai? ^_^

comunque e' una gran carta ed e' bello che l'abbiano sbannata, e non mi stupirei se tornasse a veder gioco, non solo in un mazzo ad hoc, ma anche in vecchi archetipi (enchantress con exploration e mox diamond... lol...)
